Digital Content Writer - WRIF-FM

Iconic broadcast brand, 101WRIF, a Beasley Media Group station, is seeking a talented, smart, and focused digital content writer for our top-ranked, high-profile morning drive show. “Dave & Chuck the Freak” gets Detroiters out of bed with their humorous takes on everything from pop culture to current events to weird stories in the news. This award-winning show originates from our metro Detroit-based studios and is syndicated throughout Beasley’s footprint and with affiliates around the country.

Interested applicants should understand the brand identity and lifestyle of “Dave & Chuck the Freak” and its audience. Candidates should excel at crafting scalable, shareable, searchable, and promotable content that fosters audience engagement, traffic, and revenue. Successful candidates must also be intimately familiar with local, statewide, and regional culture. Passion and knowledge for creating brand-aligned content is necessary.

Specific duties may include demonstrating excellent writing skills and delivering content excellence; incorporating various media including social media, video, audio, podcasts, audience engagements, gallery, and graphic elements to create articles and posts, providing daily pitches, supporting custom content features and revenue-generating opportunities, adhering to deadlines, working on special projects.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience writing and producing multi-platform content.
• Creative and highly motivated to deliver content excellence within any assigned parameters and topics—while capturing the vibe and humor of the morning show brand.
• Has an inquisitive nature and is dialed into the lifestyle, culture, and interests of the local market
• Able to thrive within a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent grammar and writing skills, along with a visual sensibility.
• Prior experience reporting/writing/repurposing content through media distribution channels
• Knowledge of SEO and social media posting techniques, policies and email platforms is required.
• Terrific brainstorming and collaboration skills
• Audio/Video production and editing skills are a plus.
• Writing samples and/or portfolio required
