ABOUT OUR MISSION: In 1974, four Air Force veteran broadcasters who served together in Europe built WBKB-TV. In doing so we launched the first and only local television service in Northeast Michigan. Our communities have come to rely on WBKB-TV and its digital platforms for timely local news coverage that matters to them, timely weather forecasts focused on the northeast and local sports up-close. NEWS ANCHOR-PRODUCER & DIGITAL REPORTER: This is a rare and exciting opportunity for you to hone your skills and make your mark as a news anchor-producer and digital reporter for WBKB in beautiful Northeast Michigan! The candidate we select will be the face of our news team, on the air and on our digital and social platforms.

JOB DESCRIPTION: News anchoring is much more than reading the prompter. This is an opportunity for you to move your career forward as a news anchor-producer and digital reporter. In addition to producing and anchoring our traditional news broadcasts on WBKB, we expect you to be an eager force to push content to air, to our website and to our social platforms.

What you can expect to do on a typical day (job duties):

• write news stories • shoot video and edit it
• produce & anchor the newscast
• uploading content to our platforms & website
• grow your connections in the community

The candidate we choose for this position is motivated, ambitious and engaging, eager for feedback and personal growth.

What we need from you with your application:
• cover letter
• journalism or communications undergraduate degree
• samples of on-air work in studio and remote location (can be uploaded for us to view)
• examples of your ability to work independently
• no less than three references
• valid license and good driving record
