The Position: We’re looking for a talented and dedicated Technical Director to help us maintain our industry-leading production standards and keep our viewers connected. The technical director (TD) is responsible for the technical execution of live and pre-recorded broadcasts, ensuring smooth, professional-quality production. The TD operates the production switcher and associated equipment during live broadcasts and coordinates all technical aspects of production with crew members and producers. Responsibilities: Operate video switcher, audio consoles, graphic systems, and other studio equipment during live and recorded productions Collaborate with producers, directors, and production staff to execute the creative vision of newscasts and programs Ensure all technical elements (video, audio, graphics) are properly queued and executed on time Oversee studio and control room operations during live broadcasts Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues under time pressure Maintain broadcast quality standards for all production outputs Assist with setup, testing, and maintenance of studio and control room equipment Support remote broadcasts and special productions as needed Stay current with emerging production technologies and suggest improvements to workflows
Qualifications: Technically inclined, dependable, and detail-oriented Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in live broadcast settings Excellent communication and teamwork skills Availability for early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required by production schedules The Culture: Innovative: Our industry changes every day.
