
Content Director - WGER-FM (Saginaw)
Alpha Media has an exciting opportunity for a creative, driven leader to join us as Content Director of the iconic WGER-FM in Saginaw, Michigan. WGER is one of Mid-Michigan’s most beloved stations, known for its strong brand, loyal audience, and deep community ties. Core Responsibilities: Develop and execute strategies to grow ratings and revenue in a competitive market. Oversee all on-air programming, digital, and social media content for WGER. Collaborate with sales and promotions to align content with revenue goals and brand strategy. Coach and mentor on-air talent to deliver compelling, audience-focused content. Analyze Nielsen and digital data to guide programming decisions and audience growth strategies. Ensure compliance with FCC rules, company policies, and relevant regulations. Build and maintain strong relationships within the community and the industry. Lead the planning and execution of station promotions, imaging, and events.
What We’re Looking For: 5+ years of experience as a Content or Program Director, preferably in a competitive or major market. Proven ability to lead and inspire a programming team. Strong knowledge of pop culture, music, audience behavior, and digital content trends. Experience with content management systems, digital analytics tools, and social platforms. Comfortable working flexible hours, including nights/weekends for events and remotes. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Sales-friendly mindset with a collaborative approach to cross-departmental initiatives. Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills. Understanding of FCC rules and broadcast regulations. Valid driver’s license and ability to attend in-person meetings and events. Preferred requirements of this position may include the following: Knowledge of Google GSuite products and Microsoft. Strong understanding of Wide Orbit Radio Automation, RCS Selector, and vCreative. Strong understanding of Adobe Audition and Photoshop.
